How many birds?

Incalculable, is the answer as a huge flock of Australian Cormorants set off on mass from the surface of Coila Lake.

On a 30 minute easy walk along the southern lake shore, our travellers saw many species of bird including Sea Eagles, Pelicans, Oyster Catchers and Sandpipers.

The lake was a picture of health with schools of mullets skittering into deeper water as we approached on foot. The Black Sea Hares too no notice of us however as they slowly grazed the shell encrusted rocks.

Not a bad short stopover while exploring the Eurobodalla coast!
